Aaliyah Dana Haughton came into fame in 1994, after she released her debut Album Age Ain't Nothing But an number. In the age group of 15 the album was awarded Gold status. The album was a collaboration that was highly influenced by R. Kelly and it placed her in the limelight. In 1996, she released her second album One In A Million with Jermaine dupri and Timbaland. The album contained the hit number one single If Your girl only knew. Aaliyah achieved international recognition for her R&B singing with the release of this album. In 2000, she was as a character in Romeo Must Die, a romance/action movie with Jet-Li. Joel Silver, a film producer at an awards show in which she was cast, noticed her. In 2002, she appeared as involved in the Anne Rice-produced movie about horror Queen of the Damned. The year 2003 saw her was on screen in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. The performer received four Grammy nominations in 2001, 1999, 2002 and 2003. Although she began with minor film and TV roles, her acting started becoming more popular in the middle of 2000s. Apart from The Big Bang Theory, her other notable works include Leverage (2013) Suits (2014) and Grey's Anatomy (2017.) The commercials she has done have been for big brands, like Volvo. She is currently working on her acting career in Los Angeles, where she lives with her husband and daughter.
