Aaliyah Dana Haaughton rose to fame after releasing the album she dubbed Age Ain't Nothing More Than a Number in 1994. At the age of 15 years old, the album earned Gold recognition. R. Kelly heavily influenced this collaboration, and helped to bring the singer up to the top of the charts. In 1996, she released her second album One In A Million with Jermaine dupri and Timbaland. It contained the number one hit track If Your Girl Only was aware. Aaliyah's second album called One in a million came out in the year 1996. It contained the number-one song, a huge hit, If Your Girl Only Knew. In 2000, she appeared in the romantic action film Romeo Must Die alongside martial artists Jet-Li. Joel Silver spotted her in the awards ceremony. Queen of the Damned was her debut role in 2002. The story is based on an Anne Rice novel. Aarti has both Aarti Majumdar as well as Aarti Munn as professional names. While she started out with minor film and TV parts, her acting career began to gain momentum around the mid 2000s. Other notable work includes Grey's Anatomy, Suits and Leverage. In addition, she has appeared in commercials for big companies like the international auto manufacturer Volvo. She is currently working on her acting career at Los Angeles, where she lives with her daughter and husband.
