Aaliyah Dana Haughton burst into fame in 1994, after she dropped her debut album Age Ain't Nothing More Than an number. At the age of 15 the album was awarded Gold standing. The group's collaboration heavily influential to R. Kelly's musical style, brought her into the spotlight. The year 1996 saw her release her sophomore album One In A Million with Jermaine dupri and Timbaland. The album featured the number one hit track If Your Girl Only was aware. Aaliyah achieved international recognition for her R&B vocals with the album. She was also on the screen in Romeo Must Die, a romance/action movie with Jet-Li. She got this role when she was spotted by the film's director Joel Silver at an awards show. Queen of the Damned was her first film role in 2002. It's based on the Anne Rice novel. The Matrix Sequels saw her playing Zee following her appearance in The Matrix Reloaded (2003) as well as The Matrix Revolutions that same year. The actress is from Indian origin and was born in Connecticut. The stage name Mann originates from her husband's name Mankad. But, she has both Aarti Mann and Aarti Majumdar for professional names. The acting career of her began in mid-2000's with minor parts in movies and TV. Her other noteworthy works are Leverage 2012, Suits 2013, and Grey's Anatomy 2017. In addition, she has appeared in important commercials for brands like Volvo the world's largest auto producer. She lives with her family in Los Angeles with her husband as well as her daughter, and is continuing to develop her acting profession.
